Kekoa McClellan
Principal
The McClellan Group (TMG) is led by Kekoa McClellan. As principal of TMG, Kekoa’s 15 years of experience in Hawai‘i politics and business has launched more than 60 successful political campaigns and four small businesses in the state.
Kekoa has served on numerous community and corporate boards, which has earned him the distinction as one of Hawai‘i’s young business leaders. Among his accomplishments include being named to Pacific Business News' coveted “Forty under 40” class list and receiving the “Outstanding Young Person” award from the Chamber of Commerce.
A proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kāpalama, Kekoa holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Hawai'i Pacific University and an executive MBA from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. His wife, Makana, serves as director of communications for Hawai‘i Gov. Josh Green. Together, they have three children.
Lehua Mahiʻai
Administrative Director
Lehua Mahiʻai joined TMG in December 2022 and has been hard at work building connections with various legislators, community leaders and kamaʻāina.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Lehua is a 2016 alumna of Theodore Roosevelt High School. She continued her education at the University of Oregon, where she earned her bachelor's degree with a double major in broadcast journalism and psychology, and a minor in history.
When not serving clients of TMG, Lehua enjoys spending quality time with her son, Hiapo, and husband, Kona Mahi’ai Fairbairn.
Kawika Lōkela Shook
Director of Cultural Preservation & Curatorship
Kawika Lōkela Shook joined the TMG team in 2023 as an advisor and curator for Native Hawaiian cultural initiatives. He possesses more than 10 years of experience in Hawaiian cultural preservation, nonprofit management and land stewardship.
Kawika graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kāpalama in 2006 and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces in 2011. He holds a master of public administration (MPA) from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, where he also received his certificate in nonprofit management from UH's College of Social Sciences in 2017.
In his free time, Kawika enjoys working on his family's farm in ʻŌlaʻa on Hawaiʻi Island and spending quality time with his wife, Paoakalani, and son, Lōkela.
